Connect your agent

Add the Finetuning MCP server to Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, VS Code and other clients

Every client needs the same server URL:

https://mcp.finetuning.ai/mcp

You need a plan with agent access first. See who can use it.

Claude.ai

  1. Open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Finetuning and paste the URL above.
  4. Click Connect and approve on the consent page.

Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop uses the same flow: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the URL.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http finetuning https://mcp.finetuning.ai/mcp

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code, pick finetuning, and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens the consent page.

Cursor

Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "finetuning": {
      "url": "https://mcp.finetuning.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Cursor then prompts you to log in to the server, which opens the consent page.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT supports MCP through developer-mode connectors.

  1. Enable Developer mode in ChatGPT's connector settings.
  2. Create a new connector and paste the URL above.
  3. Choose OAuth when asked how to authenticate, then approve on the consent page.

VS Code

Add the server to .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "finetuning": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.finetuning.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Start the server from VS Code; it opens the consent page the first time.

Any other client

Use the MCP Inspector to try the server by hand:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector

Choose the Streamable HTTP transport, enter the URL, and complete OAuth in the browser.

Client menus move around between releases. If a label above has changed, look for "add a custom or remote MCP server" in your client's settings.

Whichever client you use, you land on a Finetuning page that names the agent and lists what it is asking for. Approve to connect, or close the tab to refuse.

To disconnect later, revoke the agent's key in Profile → API. See revoking access.
